Identity in Christ - Who Does God Say I Am - Anna Szabo of Online Discipleship for Women

Have you ever struggled with your identity? I have. My mom had me accidentally out of wedlock and hated me. She persuaded me to be a mother and a wife. After three divorces, I realized it was not for me. Through genuine seeking, I discovered, understood, and accepted my identity as a child of God. Here’s how to accept identity in Christ.

Introduction

My struggles with identity led me to sleep around, drink myself to the point of unconsciousness, and do many other things of which I’m not proud, to say the least. I came to Christ in 2014, and I wrote out my entire testimony to encourage and empower you.

However, my true, labor-intense quest for a new identity in Christ began in 2016 when I was enduring narcissistic abuse in my marriage and, through eloquent mental cruelty tactics, was manipulated into suicidal depression.

My depression was the reason why I sought to understand what God says about me. It was during that dull, dark, desperate time that I signed up for Biblical counseling and dove head-first into the word of God.
