The meaning of the word “anointed” is “chosen one.” You May feel like you’re ordinary and your life is nothing special but, if you accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, you have a unique anointing on your life.
The Bible says that Jesus Christ was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit to spread the Good News and free those who have been held captive by sin (Luke 4:18-19; Acts 10:38).

When you accept Christ into your heart, the Holy Spirit moves into your body. Jesus gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:16-17 says this:“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

What is that special anointing? The Holy Spirit is God’s truth, you can ask for wisdom and answers. You can talk to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit talks to you.
You can learn to see God and His works. It takes practice but if you commit to it, you’ll notice God’s presence everywhere and you’ll be able to talk to the Holy Spirit all the time about everything. That’s how you develop a close, intimate relationship with Christ.
I wrote a poem about the topic of God’s presence as He was revealing His anointing on my life to me and I had a revelation.
“God’s Presence Everywhere”
God, I see your presence everywhere. To hear your voice for me is not at all rare.Once I finally quit being worldly and blind,Now in everything your glory I can find.
Anywhere I look, there you are!In my suffering, you count my every scar.My pain you turn from dust into beautyAs I follow your calling and fulfill my duty.
God, I don’t need any special presents. All I want is to continue being in your presence.I love leaning on you and having you near.To my heart, your presence is very dear.

Many people today are lost. Somebody dies by taking their own life every 40 seconds, according to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO): https://www.bbc.com/news/health-29060238

People today trap themselves in comparisons, unforgiveness, bitterness, self-condemnation, self-hatred, and hopelessness.
When you know the truth of the Gospel, you can help God’s kingdom.
1 John 2:27 says this:“As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.”
“Remaining in Him” means abiding in Christ. Abiding in Christ means obeying His commands.
Abiding means accepting, respecting, following, upholding, and obeying.
John 15:4 says this:“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
So, Jesus (the vine) commanded us (the branches) to abide in Him (to obey His teachings) in order for us to bear Fruit.
What Fruit?
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
And the outcome of bearing the Fruit is clear conscience, blessings, righteousness, joy, and prosperity (Psalm 1:1-3, Proverbs 21:21, Hebrews 13:18). All of those are very much needed in the world today. People need to hear the Gospel.
If you know this truth yourself and you abide in Christ, you can share the good news of God’s grace and salvation with people all around you. Sharing hope with others helps further God’s kingdom. That’s why He anointed us as Christians.
Jesus Himself said in John 8:31-32 this:“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
You have been set by the truth of the Gospel. Now, you can help set others free from fear, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, self-hatred, and hopelessness. You can do it by sharing the good news.

When we learn to be led by the Holy Spirit in us, when we abide in Christ, when we ask God for wisdom, when we strive to share hope with people, we can talk to the Holy Spirit. We will hear the Holy Spirit talk to us. What we hear comes from God’s word.
I talk to Him every day, and the more I do, the closer I feel to God. If you’d like to start practicing, too, listen to my podcast called “How to talk to God.”

You’ve been anointed with God’s wisdom and infinite intelligence. You’ve been set apart for His purpose. It’s His gift. He gives this gift as a demonstration of His love, grace, and passion – His zeal – for you.
Ephesians 1:13-14 says:“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory.”
You must use God’s special anointing on your life to help His kingdom. You must tune in and listen to the Holy Spirit speak to you about the things that really matter right now in your life and in the lives of those around you.
My personal example is this ministry.

I was called by God to use my marketing expertise and the gift of writing to share the Gospel through blogs, videos, and podcasts.

I tell you here vulnerably about my sexual addiction, alcoholism, childhood abuse, sexual assault, homelessness, divorces, and other adversity I’ve lived through.

I do it because God asked me to, He called me through the Holy Spirit to share His glorious work in my life so you can have hope. I share the Gospel and you draw closer to God. You can share the Gospel and draw others closer to God.
You have a lot to share. Use your special anointing to further God’s kingdom.
Do you believe that you have been set apart by God to serve His special purpose? If you do, memorize this Biblical affirmation I created for you to remember your anointing.I am anointed
