Take every thought captive 2 Corinthians 10 5

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Have you ever asked yourself “How do I take every thought captive?”

If so, this Christian podcast for women is going to help you.

I will explain today this take every thought captive verse.

In fact, I will teach you Six Practical Ways to Take Your Thoughts Captive.

There has never been a better time to know, understand, embrace, and apply this Biblical scripture, the “take every thought captive verse.”

My goal with the Biblical devotional for Christian women is to encourage and empower you.

Today, I want to comfort you more then ever with the same comfort I myself receive from God every day, especially this week.

Biblical devotionals must be practical and use specific life experiences in order to transform your heart and thinking.

So, today, to show you how we take all thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ, I will use very specific events of this very week in my life, and I will show you how God comforts me when I take every thought captive and submit it to the truth of Christ.

It is January 9th, 2021.

I am Anna Szabo bringing you this Cristian podcast for women – The Anna Szabo Show from Atlanta, GA in the United States of America.

It’s Saturday evening. The worst week in the American history. Very sad time for our country.

On Wednesday this week, the home of American democracy – our country’s State Capital – was attacked by mobs in a violent riot. Five lives were lost. During this time of political instability, I have fears, and I know you do too.

We are also in the midst of a global COOD-19 pandemic. This coronavirus claimed almost 369,000 American lives as of this moment. During this time of a worldwide health crisis, I have fears, and I know you do too.

On January 5th, 2021, this week, during the GA runoff election, for the first time ever Georgia turned blue, and with that, our upcoming blue President Joe Biden now has a blue senate, which provoked many violent protests here in Georgia, as well. During this time of nationwide violence, protests, and historic changes, I have fears, and I know you do too.

Four days ago, in the beginning of this week, North Korean leader at the Party Congress claimed that the United States of America is the worst enemy of North Korea, and must be conquered. During the times of nuclear war threats, I have fears, and I know you do too.

How do I relax and go to sleep when there are threats of violence everywhere: in my state, in my country, and to my country?

How do I take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ?

I promised you  Six Practical Ways to Take Your Thoughts Captive.

Here are my steps when I am overcome by fears, and I hope that this process will help you get comforted by God in the same way He comforts me.

Step 1. I examine my thoughts. What am I thinking? I am thinking this: “Will Trump incite another violent mob, especially since Joe Biden’s inauguration is coming?” “Will North Korea unleash its nuclear weapons on us?” “Is it safe to go to the grocery store given the political situation in Georgia after Warnock and Ossoff flipped the senate blue?” “What if I go to sleep, wake up, and we have no country, our democracy is vanished, and there’s a civil war?” “Will life ever be normal again?” These are all the things I am thinking, so I get them out of my head and on paper.

Step 2. I pray for God’s comfort and to renew my mind.

Step 3. I read God’s word, study His promises, and devour His truth as it relates to my current situation.

Step 4. I declare relevant Biblical scriptures as God’s eternal truth. In this case, here are the scriptures I write out in the same journal where I work to take every thought captive. “no weapon forged against you will prevail. – Isaiah 54:17. This is what God promises me as it relates to nuclear weapons. When it comes to our domestic terrorism, riots, and mobs, here’s what the word of God promises me: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10 Now that I know what my thoughts are and how they contradict God’s promises, I move to step 5.

Step 5. I intentionally choose to believe God’s promises and not my emotions.

Step 6. I practice Biblical affirmations, which I created and memorized to help me take every thought captive every time. It has to be a habit. Right now, every day, I declare the following Biblical affirmations.

To help myself remember that I am not alone in the life, in this world, in this universe, that God is everl, always present, sovereign, and good, I practice this Biblical affirmation from my ebook of 52 Biblical devotionals for women, which you can download for free at OnlineDisciplshipForWomen.com

I am not alone

I am never alone, God is always with me.

As I pass through the deep waters,

He holds me in the palm of His hand,

And I trust His protection guarantee.

Isaiah 41:10 | Romans 8:28

To help myself remember that I have the power of Christ in me, I practice this Biblical affirmation.

I am powerful

I can do anything and everything through Christ.

To empower me, His precious life he sacrificed.

I am capable, competent, skilled, and effective.

Jesus gave me power and issued against my self-doubt directive.

2 Timothy 1-7 | Philippians 4:13 | Acts 1:8

To help myself remember that God has already won victory of my behalf, I practice this Biblical affirmation.

I am victorious

I am more than a conqueror or a mere winner.

Even in afflictions and adversity, I have peace inner.

I find victory and joy. I grow in faith and hope.

Through trials, my intimacy with Christ grows in scope.

Romans 8:28 | Romans 8:37

To help myself remember that I have God’s peace, which is sacred and passes all understanding, I practice this Biblical affirmation.

I am peaceful

I have peace in every way.

It is perfect. It is sacred.

All the time my Lord is near,

And by Him my life’s directed.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 John 16:33 | Philippians 4:6-7

To help myself remember that I am protected by my powerful God, I practice this Biblical affirmation.

I am protected

My God is with me and He strengthens me.

He upholds me with His righteous right hand.

He protects me from every evil and rescues me.

I don’t fear as on God’s eternal promises I firmly stand.

Isaiah 41:10 | Isaiah 54:17 | 2 Timothy 4:18

And finally, to help myself trust God’s promises and not my emotions, to claim my steadfast faith in God, I practice this Biblical affirmation.

I am faithful

I have faith in God, my Father.

I have faith in His great plan.

I have faith that He will honor

All His promises in my lifespan.

Isaiah 43:1-3 | Galatians 3:22

These are my exact Six Practical Ways to Take Your Thoughts Captive.

That’s how I deal with life’s adversity by taking every thought captive to obey Christ and God’s truth.

I want to leave you with my Christian poem called “Standing on God’s promises” which I hope will encourage and empower you, no matter what you’re going through. And here’s my poem called Standing on God’s Promises

“Standing on God’s Promises” #PoemsFromGod

Life is a series of seasons,

With moments of sorrow followed by happy moments.

To question God we have many reasons,

Especially, when facing some devastating disappointments.

Sometimes, we question God’s very existence,

Or just His presence in our lives.

We may confront the idea of God’s goodness with resistance,

Especially when grief our daily emotions drives.

Our emotions are not a very reliable source of information.

How we feel changes often too randomly.

That’s why to confidently walk toward our destination,

We need to immerse ourselves in truth extendedly.

We need to understand and believe God’s faithfulness.

We need to embrace His eternal promises.

We don’t need to make them up or guess –

Reading His word is what confidence encompasses.

In the Bible, there are 3573 promises,

The word “promise” itself occurs 50 times.

End of suffering, protection, and forgiveness,

Peace and joy are guaranteed to us always and not just sometimes.

God’s promises are the only solid ground to stand on.

Everything else is unstable and temporary.

His word is the truth for us to lean on,

So that our lives can be for His glory and extraordinary.
