This ebook shares 15 Christian spoken word poems birthed by me between 2017 and 2020. As I was facing life, healing from trauma, and growing in faith, one by one, each of these spiritual poems was born. They come not from me but through me from God (John 7:38).
I share with you, through my Christian spoken word poetry, the lessons I’ve learned from living. My hope is to encourage and empower you on your own journey. Living takes a lot of wisdom, intentionality, hope, focus, faith, and discernment. This spoken word art collection represents what I’ve discovered in life about my identity in Christ, God’s promises, faithful living, genuine joy as opposed to toxic maniac happiness illusion, fortitude in adversity, daily surrender, authentic desire for God, and forgiveness.
I was born out of wedlock in Soviet Russia in 1983 to a single mom who hated me and had mental health issues. I endured emotional abuse and physical violence. I experienced rejection and hatred. I felt confused and was persuaded that I did not deserve to exist. I attempted suicide twice.
God drew me close, revealed Himself to me, lifted my spirit up, taught me who I am and why I’m here, saved me in 2014, and gave me a new exciting future. I never received wise counsel growing up. Everything shared in this Christian spoken word poetry book I’ve learned on my personal faith journey with God. I listen to His Spirit, which dwells in me.
