Introduction

It’s just the beginning of this blog, and I’m already crying. Why? Because Christian prayers for healing and strength saved my life. I was so confused, broken, torn apart, and hurt. I was in pain all the time. I was shattered.

When I wrote about that season in my blog called How The Narcissist Makes You Feel, I recalled feeling deceived, disillusioned, devalued, disregarded, dehumanized, distressed, devastated, debilitated, disoriented, disassociated, detached, discarded, and depressed.

That’s how I felt when I first started writing Christian Prayers.

Soon after the divorce with the narcissist, I began studying Spiritual Warfare, which led me to write a collection of seven Spiritual Warfare Prayers that have helped thousands of people in the last three years. They are called “The Armor of God Prayers.”

Christian Prayers for Healing

During that season, when I was going through a lot (divorce, depression, and despair), I decided to lean on God. It was 2016, Fall to be exact. I signed up for Biblical counseling, and Tammy, my Biblical counselor, would pray for me every Wednesday over FaceTime, which was how we “met” weekly.

Tammy prayed Christian prayers for healing, not only for me but also for my husband who filed for divorce four months after our wedding saying he didn’t want to be married anymore and wanted to be an IronMan instead.

My friends prayed, our premarital counseling mentors prayed, and even strangers prayed Christian prayers for healing and strength as I was going through the misery of narcissistic abuse, betrayal, confusion, and an identity crisis.

Each Christian prayer for healing a broken heart, my broken heart, helped me persevere, stand on God’s promises, and heal.

God’s word has healing power. God is the healer of all wounds, afflictions, traumas, illnesses, addictions, and broken hearts.

The power of healing is found in the word of God.

My son, pay attention to what I say;

    turn your ear to my words.

 Do not let them out of your sight,

    keep them within your heart;

 for they are life to those who find them

    and health to one’s whole body.

Proverbs 4:20-22

I paid attention and turned my ears to God’s word. I did not let the Scripture out of my sight and spent many nights crying myself to sleep in prayer on my knees. I kept God’s holy word within my heart, and it restored me to health – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Today, I’m sharing my five Christian prayers for healing with you.

May they strengthen your spirit, bless your soul, encourage your heart, and empower your mind. May these prayers help your faith grow and make your hope abound.

Christian Prayer for Healing and Strength

Dear God,

You say the Lord is my healer.

You say your word has the power to heal and deliver me.

You say the Lord will keep me free from every disease.

I am struggling and suffering right now, Father God.

I am weak, but you are strong.

Your power is made perfect in my weakness.

I am leaning on the power of your holy word for healing.

I am leaning on the Lord for strength.

May Christ's power rest on me.

Deliver me and set me free from this affliction.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

I, the Lord, am your healer.

Exodus 15:26

He sent out his word and healed them,

    and delivered them from their destruction.

Psalm 107:20

The Lord will keep you free from every disease.

Deuteronomy 7:15

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Christain Prayer for Healing a Broken Heart

Dear God,

My heart is broken. My soul is aching.

But I have hope because you are still reigning.

You say if I call upon you, you will heal me.

I am pleading for healing, Father God.

Heal my broken heart.

I find my rest in you, Father God.

You are my refuge and my fortress.

I trust you.

You are the God of love, compassion, and kindness.

Be kind, God, have mercy on me.

Show me your compassion.

Heal my broken heart.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

Lord my God, I called to you for help,

    and you healed me.

Psalm 30:2

Why, my soul, are you downcast?

    Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

    for I will yet praise him,

    my Savior and my God.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

    my God, in whom I trust.”

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Christian Prayer for Healing Depression

Dear God,

I am depressed. My heart is heavy.

My mind is filled with sadness.

A black cloud is weighing on me.

On my shoulders, I am carrying a burden.

I am trapped in darkness, dullness, and despair.

You told me to think of noble, pure, excellent, and praiseworthy things but I can't, please help me. Lift this heavy burden off of me.

I am waiting patiently for you, God.

Turn to me and hear my cry.

Lift me out of this depression pit.

Give my heart a new song.

Make this a victorious story for your glory.

Set me free from depression.

Give me the joy of the Lord.

I praise you, God, for your comfort.

You comfort me in all my troubles.

Comfort me in this depression. Lift me up.

And I will comfort others with your comfort, God.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Philippians 4:8

I waited patiently for the Lord;

    he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit,

    out of the mud and mire;

he set my feet on a rock

    and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth,

    a hymn of praise to our God.

    and put their trust in him.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Christian Prayer for Healing from Addiction

Dear God,

I have a master. I am enslaved.

I am held captive by this master, wich is my addiction.

God, you said my temptations are common to mankind.

I am not the first one struggling with this. I have hoope.

You promised to offer me an escape from every temptation.

Give me wisdom, alertness, and discernment.

Let me recognize the escape from my temptations.

God, you are faithful. You give me only what I can bear.

Let me be wise and choose to escape from my temptations.

My addiction became my master, my idol.

I am ready to flee from idolatry.

I am ready to submit myself to you, God, and resist the devil.

Make the devil flee from me.

Set me free from his lordship over me.

I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength.

In Jesus' name I declare my freedom from the devil.

Sin is not my master.

Amen.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:14

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Christian Prayer for Healing from Divorce

Dear God,

I am devastated, brokenhearted, and I'm suffering.

This divorce is the hardest trial of my life.

I call upon you, God, deliver me from this pain.

And I will honor you.

God, I am so hurt.

Yet, I rejoice knowing that you ordained this adversity.

You will allow me to suffer for a little while.

Then, you will restore me.

You will make me strong, firm, and steadfast.

I am enduring so much, God...

I know this will develop my character.

I know my character is key to my hope.

I know that this adversity is a test of my faith.

This test will produce perseverance.

Perseverance will lead to my maturity, wholeness, and wisdom.

I am facing this trial with joy.

You are the God of all grace, and I trust you.

In Jesus' name, I pray for acceptance of my journey.

Amen.

Call on me in the day of trouble;

    I will deliver you, and you will honor me.

Psalm 50:15

We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 5:3-5

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Christian Affirmations for Healing

As I was going through divorces (he actually filed for divorce twice in our first few months of marriage), I was struggling with an identity crisis.

Before I married him, I was Anna Stevens, and now I had his last name but he didn’t want anything to do with me. He called his bicycle “My other wife I cheat on you with” and spent all his time with his “other wife.”

I felt sick in every way, I felt dead in my spirit, I felt trapped in his deceptive scheme, and I felt like dying.

Eventually, I became severely suicidal.

It was during that season that God called me by my name, drew me close, comforted me, protected me, and gave me the most valuable thinking project of my life.

God gave me #52Devotionals.

He led me on a journey to figure out who I am in Christ and answer the question “What Does God Say About Me?”

Everything I’ve learned saved my life.

Christian Prayer Request

The word of God calls us to pray for one another. Each of us needs one another. We are God’s church together. All of us are connected as one body of Christ. What Does The Bible Say About Praying for Each Other?

The Bible offers many examples of how people pray for one another and why do so. I want to pray for you because many Christians prayed for me over the years and helped me persevere, survive, and thrive in life.

The word of God calls us to be a community. Not everyone has access to CHurch where they can walk up to the stage after a sermon and people will hug them and pray for them. Some people live in remote locations or simply don’t have any churches or praying Christians around them.

That’s why I’m offering to pray for you. My community here can lift you up. Here’s what the Gospel says about the discipline of praying for others.

Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

James 5:16 

Let me know in the comments how I can pray for your healing, strength, protection, direction, recovery, restoration, and wholeness. When others lift you up in prayer, no matter where you are in the world, the power of their prayers does not go unnoticed. The prayers of Christians help your healing.

What Examples Are There In The Bible of People Praying for Each Other?

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Ephesians 1:17-18

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that
Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:9-12

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else . . . May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

How To Pray - Anna Szabo praying Christian Prayers for Healing and Strength

The discipline of prayer, from my perspective, is critical to mental health, good discernment, healthy boundaries, and sustainable productivity. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, give into the priorities of others, be pulled into multiple directions by various distractions, or get off track with our faith.

Prayers help me live a single, celibate, productive, healthy, peaceful, and joyful life, stay focused on God and His calling, walk in my purpose, and help encourage and empower others.
